Erik Cereghino

(He/Him)

Born in Los Angeles, Erik had the good fortune of attending an elementary school that produced three musicals a year. His introduction to sound for live theater came at age nine.

In 2017, Erik returned his focus to sound designing for live theater and worked as a Mixer, A2 and an assistant sound designer in Los Angeles. In 2018, Erik moved to New York City where he assisted in production audio and worked as a stage hand for off Broadway shows. A year into working for Five Ohm Productions and the Park Avenue Armory, Erik realized that his best approach to deepening his knowledge in sound design would be to return to school.

After recently completing his MFA in Sound Design at Carnegie Mellon University in 2023, Erik moved back to New York City to pursue his passion for sound design and enjoying the vibrant city.

Erik's thesis was based upon the production Godspell with a focus on acoustic envelopment utilizing surround sound systems. It can be downloaded below.
